statement

Most of my work is a journey, as well as statement of my surroundings. Things happen all around us all the time, whether we acknowledge them or ignore them are always up to us.

I try to record some of mine, but life moves so fast, I just can't get them all, I attempt to nail down a certain Idea, feeling, something I have seen, or story I've been told, an experience that has made a lasting impression..... We all have similar pleasures and fears I attempt to come clean, without spelling everything out, I would rather you try to figure some of these things out, come up with your own conclusion, to have you pay more attention to your own world.

At one point or another we all end up in one of my paintings, what you see here, could help you decipher where you are, where you have been, and where you are going.

Not all of it is pretty.

Wow JB this is so very beautiful! I love the silence in this painting. The colours are also so well chosen, the softness of it and then the bright blood red in the back. Really awesome.

thanks momo....
I think your right, it is quiet.
some artists have music going while they do their thing.....
I never have, i think it may come out in the work.
I may try blasting the tunes to see how it effects the work!
thanks

liv,
thanks...
yeah I was really struggling with the compostion and coloration on this one, seemed like nothing was working. This is the final proof.
thanks

I'm glad you approve, I try to include that certain somthing that makes it intriging. But its hard to know what it is, when I start from nothing.

It is like a walk over my favourite beach, refreshing and close to my heart,I love the atmosphere in it.Gorgeous!

Aleks...
thanks, yeah it is a little desolete, not sure if beach or desert does'nt really matter. If it apeals to the eye, that is what matters.
thanks

Very nice. While I wouldn't call it a barren landscape, it's very understated. Reminds me of a de chirico.

Thanks carrie,
yeah kept retooling this one stripping it down and the composition, it nice to be in de chirico's presents
good to hear from you

I feel bad because I am not good at articulating the feeling art gives me sometimes. I guess what I can say is that somehow this one felt familiar to me, like home, like a desert with reflections and illusions. Whether that was your intention or not, that's what I felt. Beautiful work.

eva....
I think you articulated your feelings beautifully, Its such a personal thing, when it hits you deep, this one runs on the heels of "Aftermath" there may be a bit left over from that.
thanks for your comment

A very compelling painting! I find when I'm stuck I often retreat. Possibly fear of the next step. I like what you've done.

I most of the time (as always) have music going while drawing or painting. Perhaps i should try to paint or draw in absolute silence (if that's possible in my busy surroundings)

Sweet greetz JB!

momo.....
yeah, I never have the music on, or any thing that distracts, I should try turning the music on to see what happens.
thanks
