Most of my work is a journey, as well as statement of my surroundings. Things happen all around us all the time, whether we acknowledge them or ignore them are always up to us.

I try to record some of mine, but life moves so fast, I just can't get them all, I attempt to nail down a certain Idea, feeling, something I have seen, or story I've been told, an experience that has made a lasting impression..... We all have similar pleasures and fears I attempt to come clean, without spelling everything out, I would rather you try to figure some of these things out, come up with your own conclusion, to have you pay more attention to your own world.

At one point or another we all end up in one of my paintings, what you see here, could help you decipher where you are, where you have been, and where you are going.

Not all of it is pretty.

acrylic/fluted sbs

This is another one from the "Dilated" series, I have grown to like this series.....
It's enabled me to loosen up a bit and not worry about making mistakes, I seem to labor much harder on canvas and fret over the smallest details, when I may actually be covering some of the original intent.

An added plus is that the sbs has a nice hold out, and the paint lay flat on the board so I don't need to use a matte medium (unless I want to kill off any excess gloss)

I love this thought-provoking but quiet painting. I'm not familiar with fluted sbs.

I love the way you paint your figures. The shape of their bodies conveys such feeling.

thanks, apperciate the comment from such a thought provoking(sp?)
painter, fluted sbs is used in the printing industry, think of it as heavy card board with a smooth hard finish, but clear coated and white.

so nice to see you....
Your writing just gets better and stronger.
thanks for your approval on the figures, they seem to appear from from nothing

I love your dilated series a lot JB.
The quietness in it, but always the sense of danger somehow....

I do like this one a lot! Can you tell me a little bit about the sbs - is it like foamboard. Do you like it better than canvas?

Have a great holiday!

Take care,

thanks, yeah I am starting to grow found of the series...
I hope that doesn't sound egotistical, but I get to loosen up

Thanks, apperciate the nod!
sbs is a board used in the printing industry, it has a hard smooth surface with a card-board type backing, its usually white and has a clear coating, so you really don't need to prime it. I like it because it kills the gloss, I tend to like a flat finish.
I'm working on getting some more, and I know you have a ohio connection
if I get alot of it do you want any?
let me know
