statement

Most of my work is a journey, as well as statement of my surroundings. Things happen all around us all the time, whether we acknowledge them or ignore them are always up to us.

I try to record some of mine, but life moves so fast, I just can't get them all, I attempt to nail down a certain Idea, feeling, something I have seen, or story I've been told, an experience that has made a lasting impression..... We all have similar pleasures and fears I attempt to come clean, without spelling everything out, I would rather you try to figure some of these things out, come up with your own conclusion, to have you pay more attention to your own world.

At one point or another we all end up in one of my paintings, what you see here, could help you decipher where you are, where you have been, and where you are going.

Not all of it is pretty.

Reckoning
35"x28"
acrylic/fluted sbs

This is part of the "dilated" series that I've been working on.
I still have more to go on the series, I've been working on several at the same time which may explain a seeming lack of out-put. But it's been enjoyable to see what transpires and to see where each one take's me.

hello jb,

now i learned from laura what the word gripping means. a good word for your work.
but the atmosphere is a bit sad too!?

Julia...
thanks, I have always been drawn to art that make one ask "THE" question, and art that's a bit on the dark side, thats probably why I have been drawn to yours and Laura's work, I really like both of your work

Oh how i love your dreamy landscapes. So comforting at first sight and yet you can feel something uneasy lurking in the depths somewhere. That's why i love your art so much JB.

Have a great week. And did i already mention that i LOVE your new header. Did i miss that painting? I just LOVE it. :-D

Thanks, I almost missed yours and alice's comment..
I'm glad you feel the lurking, sometimes its hard to convey the thoughts, its good you pick up on it! The header is from a earlier post the painting is "Blue Room" its 5ft by 3ft acrylic on canvas.
this is a cut away section there's more to it, if you have the time scroll back or hit the "pax" thing to the right, type in the title, it will take you there.

Alice....
Thanks, your a doll, apperciate you checking in!
I've tried to leave several comments your way, but the thing wont let me post.
